1. What I love about drawing on the train is it gives you a real challenge, You could be drawn for 20m or just 2. Unfortunately this man had to get of at the next stop but we had a lovely chat about his university studies.

It is amazing what detail you can get in a short about of time, I am planning to do some drawings in rush hour, will see how that one goes.

  2. Girl on the Underground

“Being an illustrator based in London and commute into town regularly on the tube. Sitting on the train and always on the lookout for inspiration, I often sketch the people around me - on one particular day recently I wanted to draw the man reading a book in front of me. Looking in my bag, to find I only had a pen but no paper.

I started to draw on my copy of Metro, which worked surprisingly well, giving a a new layer of texture.”

Sitting on the train I could not help but to draw the man reading in front of me. Looking in my bag, to find I only had a pen but no paper.

I started to draw on my Metro, which worked surprisingly well, giving to illustration a new layer of texture.

  10. Sketches on the Northern Line

My first drawing of the day was the man holding his bag(seems i made his right arm a little to short), getting a little carried away when i started drawing his hands, which explains the drawing on the left, hands.

Back to drawing in my moleskines, just to say the most amazing sketchbooks ever made!
